In my 30 years as an educator, I have served in a variety of leadership positions including teaching 8th grade math in Frankfort District 157C, instructing GED classes for Prairie State College's Family Literacy Program, serving as a School Board Member in Matteson Elementary School District 162, working as the Assistant Director for Huntington Learning Center in Oswego, and teaching math at Plano High School before moving into administration. I was the Assistant Principal at Plano High School in charge of curriculum and instruction for 8 years before moving into my current role as Principal of P.H. Miller Elementary School. My extensive experience with and understanding of the education system has served me well as a primary school administrator. I am thrilled to be working at the PK-1st grade level where we are able to impact our families and community in a positive way by setting a strong foundation for academic success and family advocacy based on my experience and knowledge of what is needed for success at the secondary level. Through my experience I have learned that effective leaders set the tone and create a culture that yield results by developing collective efficacy and initiative through collaboration, trust, interdependence, and empowerment.
